Pejsa, "Guitarist at Large"
Pejsa, “Guitarist at Large”, is a barefoot finger-picking
musical community of one. As individual as Colorado herself, he has
surrendered himself to“Brett-ify” every song he touches:
Uncle Jerry and the Grateful Dead mixed with Rocky Mountain Jeep
Cowboy and a splash of Salty Sea Dog. A bit of technology allows him
to play guitar, bass, and drums, as well as sing vocals and build
vocal choruses all at the same time. It's like musical brain-candy.
whiz of a finger-picker, he plays with acrylic fingernail-picks (the
ladies at the nail salon have finally grown accustomed to it). This
is a classical guitar technique he learned while earning a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Guitar Performance from Colorado State University.
He has opened for Leo Kottke, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Jonathan
Edwards, and Hot Tuna. He partied with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral
Reefers in Kona, Hawaii, not that it makes any difference, but it is
Pejsa has a theory about his guitar. He puts stickers on it
everywhere he goes, and he's been some places. The first sticker was
a peace sign placed in Berlin, Germany in 1991, while he was there to
beat the shit out of the Berlin Wall. Brett is convinced that the
guitar has a will of it's own. He walks around playing whatever comes
to mind and following wherever it would lead. It has never failed to
deliver a terrific memory.
Mountain Cathedrals are his favorite audience. He is sure that
Colorado loves him as much as he loves Her. He figured out how to
run a PA system from a 1974 Jeep CJ-5 and runs mountain passes to
likes to play for people, too! He would love to play for you!
